Açaí Bowl Recipe

Anyone that knows me already knows this is one of my favorite things to eat EVER. No matter where I am home or traveling I am always seeking out new açaí bowls to try. Everyone does them so differently. My ALL-time favorite is the Secret Spot in Hampton, they just nail the açaí bowls every. single. time. But let's face it, I need an açaí bowl I enjoy that doesn't consist of me needing to drive 30 minutes to get one. I wanted to be able to make my own right at home. They are super easy so let's jump in.
Ingredients:
The smoothie part of the bowl -
  • 1 Trader Joe's Unsweetened Organic Açaí Puree Packet (In the frozen fruit section)

  • 1/2 cup apple juice

  • 1 cup frozen berries

  • A few squirts of honey

Toppings (feel free to add or change what you like)

  • 1 Banana

  • A few strawberries

  • Walnuts

  • Flaxseed

  • Peanut Butter

  • Honey

  • Coconut Flakes

Assembly:

First you want to combine all smoothie ingredients into your blender. Make sure the Açaí is straight out of the freezer, you need it frozen to make the right consistency. I use a Ninja blender. The honey is totally up to your discretion, that is where most of your sweetness will come from. I am usually content with a couple squirts but you can always add more or less. Once you have all the of ingredients in there you will want to blend until smooth but still thick. Once complete pour onto into a bowl and smooth out the top.
Next, you are going to add your toppings. I cut up a banana and some strawberries. I then add a dollop of peanut butter and a sprinkle of walnuts, coconut flakes and flaxseed. Once you do that your bowl is complete and ready for tasting. It is so delish. If you make one let me know what you think!
